13 times the Duchess of Cambridge showed off her enviable trainer collection

The Duchess of Cambridge is known for her love of wedge heels and classic court shoes, but when she wants to keep things casual, she prefers a good pair of trainers.

Kate favors plimsolls or more functional trainers when it comes to sneakers. That doesn’t mean her choices are dull; the Duchess isn’t afraid to experiment with color, ranging from bright red to pale blue to solid colors with bright accents. Take a look at Kate’s impressive trainer collection…

1.Tennis trainers for Kate

When the Duchess played doubles with US Open champion Emma Raducanu, she was in her element! She was wearing ON Running’s ‘The Roger’ sneakers, no doubt in the hopes of playing like a pro.

2.Kate is dressed in Superga.

The Duchess has worn her favorite Superga 2750 Cotu Classic trainers on numerous occasions.

From arriving in plimsolls at her ‘Back to Nature’ garden at the Chelsea Flower Show last year to the King’s Cup Regatta in August 2020, she has worn them all. Princess Diana, who was pictured wearing a navy version in 1997, was a fan of the same style.

3.Kate is wearing leather trainers by Veja Esplar.

Kate and her husband, William, returned to the University of St Andrews, where they met 20 years ago, earlier this year.

For the occasion, the mother-of-three wore a pair of Veja trainers and one of her favorite past-season Breton-striped tops. The duchess is right on trend with this one, as environmentally friendly, sustainable shoes are all the rage right now.

4.Kate is dressed in New Balance Cruz Fresh Foam.

Kate debuted a new style of her favorite New Balance numbers while dressed in her sporty gear for the King’s Cup sailing race last year. The fashionable trainers, which have a knitted fabric, are still available.

During a visit to the Irish Football Association in Belfast in 2017, she wore the same pair in navy blue. The spongey sneakers are known as the ‘Fresh Foam Cruz v2 Sport,’ and the brand has since released a slew of similar styles.

5.Kate wearing Nike Vapormax sneakers

Kate was dressed for action in Monreal London track pants and a Nike top at the end of 2017.

Who are her trainers? The Nike VaporMax sneakers in light blue are one of her most stylish pairs to date. She wore the shoes again in 2019 when she paid a visit to a London primary school.

6.Kate is dressed in Adidas Supernova Glide sneakers.

To watch some events at the 2012 London Olympics, the Duchess wore a bright pair of Adidas kicks; with the red trim on her jacket and a red tee, this is a woman who knows how to coordinate. Take heed!

7.Kate is dressed in New Balance Vazee sneakers.

These trail running shoes are designed for women, and Kate put them to the test during a London Marathon training day in February 2017; while she didn’t beat husband Prince William or brother-in-law Prince Harry, she looked as elegant as ever.

Later in November, she wore her New Balance sneakers to a visit to Birmingham, perfectly matching her coat and sneakers. The style is no longer available, but the New Balance 680v6 is a good alternative.

8.Kate is dressed in Adidas Pureboost X sneakers.

When showing off her rowing skills in Portsmouth with Sir Ben Ainslie in 2016, the Duchess of Cambridge swapped a pair of Rupert Sanderson courts for a pair of lightweight £90 trainers. Her all-black ensemble was jazzed up by the snazzy turquoise laces, just like a style icon would.

Kate’s Pureboost design is no longer available, but Adidas’ redesigned Ultraboosts are a great alternative if you swap out the laces for a bright, bold blue like the Duchess.

9.Kate is dressed in Mint Velvet plimsolls.

Kate first wore her grey suede Mint Velvet ‘Bibi’plimsolls back in 2013, and she packed them for the Royal Tour to Australia and New Zealand a year later.

Although the style is no longer popular, Mint Velvet’s newer version, the Nicola, is a close substitute.

10.Kate is dressed in ASICS Gel-Solution Speed 3 tennis shoes.

What should you wear if you’re going to a Judy Murray tennis workshop? Of course, tennis shoes! With these classic ASICS, Kate stayed true to the theme. For summer sports, try the new style in pure white.

Kate was ready to play in her trainers and hoodie on a visit to the Olympic Park to see the British hockey team ahead of the 2012 Olympics, putting her hockey days at school to the test.

12.Kate is dressed in M&S.

Kate looked lovely in her green culottes and comfy trainers when she stepped out in an off-duty look in February 2020.

Kate’s green striped trainers were a bargain at £29.50 from British retailer Marks & Spencer. Unsurprisingly, they sold out quickly, but new colorways have been added to the mix.

13.Kate is dressed in Superga (again)

Last year, the royal shared a never-before-seen photo from her time working on her own garden for the Chelsea Flower Show, and fans were ecstatic to see another never-before-seen look.
