Since the UK is having one of the hottest summers ever, there is almost no reason to leave the country in search of warmer weather.
As the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge did last month when they shared a photo of Prince George at a nearby beach to celebrate his ninth birthday, many families are choosing to stay at home instead of traveling.
While the location of the Cambridge family’s vacation is unknown, William and Kate have previously taken George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis to Cornwall’s Isles of Scilly.

Throughout an official visit in 2016, Prince Harry stopped by the Nevis turtle conservation project on Lover’s Beach. After the journey, the Prince reportedly flew to Toronto to visit his then-girlfriend Meghan.

During the royal tour of Australia in 2014, Kate dazzled everyone by running along Manly Beach in Sydney while wearing a pair of towering wedge heels. In a white Broderie Anglaise dress created by local designer Zimmermann, the Duchess kept cool in the heat.

And now for a look back at Kate’s father-in-law Prince Charles, who was captured in 1985 running on the beach while wearing swim trunks!
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex
When the Sussexes visited South Melbourne Beach during their 2018 royal tour of Australia, they were greeted by crowds. The couple participated in a beach clean-up, working alongside local schoolchildren and the president of BeachPatrol to remove trash from the shores.
The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall
During their tour of Devon and Cornwall in July 2021, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall stopped by the breathtaking Porthcressa Beach in St. Mary’s on the Isles of Scilly.
