Royal wedding Meghan Markle is returning to New York City wearing a favorite pair of earrings.
On Thursday, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry began their cross-country trip to New York City by visiting One World Observatory at the World Trade Center with Mayor Bill de Blasio and Governor Kathy Hochul. For the occasion, they both dressed in black: Meghan wore a turtleneck with matching trousers under a jacket, and Harry wore a classic suit and tie.
The Duchess of Sussex pulled her hair back into a low bun in her signature style, revealing her stunning stud earrings. And there’s a reason the accessory is so well-known: it’s the same pair of white gold and diamond Cartier earrings Meghan wore at her wedding to Prince Harry in May 2018 at Windsor Castle!
Meghan hasn’t taken the earrings out of her jewelry box for the first time. In fact, she wore the studs at an Invictus Games reception in London in April 2018 ahead of her wedding day.
Meghan wore the jewels again in July 2019 at the christening of their first child, Archie.
Meghan Markle, 40, and Prince Harry, 37, announced earlier this week that they would be attending Global Citizen Live from Central Park on Saturday to “continue their urgent work with world leaders in the pursuit of global vaccine equity to end the COVID-19 pandemic for everyone, everywhere,” according to Global Citizen.
Prince Harry gave an impassioned speech about the importance of vaccine equity at Global Citizen’s VAX Live: The Concert to Reunite the World, where the duo previously served as Campaign Chairs.
“Our world has been through a year of pain, loss, and struggle — all at the same time. Now it’s up to us to recover and heal — together, of course “In a previous statement on the subject, the couple said. “Nobody can be left behind. When everyone, everywhere has equal access to the vaccine, we will all benefit and be safer.”
They went on, “We must work to ensure that vaccines are distributed fairly, restoring faith in our shared humanity in the process. The mission’s importance and criticality cannot be overstated.”
Meghan holds a special place in her heart for New York City. In February 2019, she reunited with friends — including Serena Williams, Amal Clooney, Gayle King, and Jessica Mulroney — for a baby shower in preparation for Archie’s arrival.
In September 2019, Meghan returned to New York to cheer on Williams in the US Open final.
