Just a week after it was revealed that the Duchess’ $20 million Spotify podcast deal came to an end, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have learned more bad news.
The Daily Mail has reported that the Duke and Duchess attempted and failed to secure a patent and trademark on the term “Archetypes” for their company.
Due to the already-existing business, Archetypes LLC, the royal couple’s application for exclusive rights to use the word was rejected.
According to reports, Harry and Meghan’s attorney is requesting more time to revise the application in an effort to have it approved.
Last Thursday, it was revealed that Archewell and Spotify had mutually decided to part ways. In a joint statement, they expressed their pride in the series they had jointly created.
A representative told HELLO! that “Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually decided to part ways and are proud of the series we made together.”
According to Meghan, who confirmed the news on the Archewell website, “I loved getting my hands dirty, sitting up late at night in bed, working on the writing and creative.” And I enjoyed having deep, meaningful conversations with my interesting and diverse guests while also having fun and learning from them. It truly has been a labor of love.
Meghan spoke with famous people over the course of 12 episodes, including tennis player Serena Williams, singer Mariah Carey, Paris Hilton, and actors Mindy Kaling and Constance Wu.
It came as a surprise that the well-liked podcast would not be returning for another series since it had even won the Top Podcast prize at the People’s Choice Awards in December.
We’re working on other ways to keep the conversation going, but please know that as we close out this season of Archetypes, I thank you. Meghan said in the final episode of the show. Thank you for participating in our learning together. This has been enjoyable, healing, and liberating.
Since the podcast news broke, Meghan has been seen in photos obtained by MailOnline looking dejected.
The Duchess of Sussex made an appearance close to her Montecito residence without her husband Prince Harry and their two children, Princess Lilibet, 2, and Prince Archie, 4, respectively.
Where do Meghan Markle and Prince Harry call home?
The family’s enormous estate is a sight to behold, and they call the posh neighborhood of Montecito home.
Their expansive outdoor area measures 7.38 feet, and we’ve seen glimpses of its spotless flower beds and adorable vegetable patch in their Netflix documentary, Harry & Meghan.
The Sussexes have a sizable outdoor family pool and a play area for their two kids.
The Duchess has previously admitted they were instantly smitten with the property. “We did everything we could to get this house,” Meghan said to The Cut. “Because you enter and leave… Joy. then let out a breath. also peace. It’s therapeutic. You sense freedom.
