Prince Harry's son turns four on 6 May, but unfortunately his royal father will be in England

How Prince Archie will celebrate fourth birthday in California with mum Meghan and sister Lilibet

Prince Archie, the eldest child of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, will turn four on May 6, which is also the anniversary of the coronation of his grandfather, King Charles.

Prince Harry, the father of Archie, will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey in London, according to recent confirmation from Buckingham Palace; however, his wife Meghan will stay with their two kids at their home in California.

This means that while his father is in England for the significant royal event, Archie will spend his birthday at home with his mother and sister, Princess Lilibet, who is one. How then will young Archie honor this special day?

First things first, we imagine that Harry, the father, will immediately start a video call with his son to wish him a happy birthday. While visiting the UK, Harry is rumored to be lodging at his and Meghan’s Windsor home, Frogmore Cottage, which they are slated to leave this summer.

With Meghan, Lilibet, and possibly Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, joining in the festivities at the family’s expansive Montecito mansion, gifts are sure to be on the agenda.

There is plenty of room for Archie’s friends, who are probably from his California pre-school, to run around if he is having a party there. Seven acres of land make up the Sussex’s grounds, which include a playground with two slides, a climbing frame, a tightrope, a helter-skelter, and two different kinds of climbing walls.

The royal child also enjoys visiting their neighbor, who has some mini-pigs, as well as the family’s own chickens, which we know Archie loves to feed, three pet dogs, and other animals.

Harry and Meghan previously admitted to Oprah Winfrey that they have a very close relationship with Victoria Jackson, their next-door neighbor who owns a sizable ranch full of farm animals. The businesswoman and former makeup artist frequently invites the Sussex kids to her Santa Barbara farm.

In a statement to The Cut, Meghan said that Archie and Lilibet had a good time there and that “the kids have been over to pet Jackson’s mini-pigs.”

Archie can have a lot of fun celebrating his birthday at home. He could even host his own supervised pool party in the gorgeous pool owned by the family! Should he want to celebrate his birthday at the beach, the stunning beaches of Santa Monica are also close by.

We know that Harry and Meghan frequently invite their friends over to celebrate special occasions with them, so perhaps some of their well-known friends, like Ellen DeGeneres or James Corden or Orlando Bloom, will drop by with a gift or their kids.

As for Archie’s birthday cake, Meghan is a fan of British baker Claire Ptak and had beautiful cakes made by her for both Lilibet’s first birthday in England and her wedding to Harry. But it’s unlikely that Claire could provide catering for a birthday in California given the distance.

Archie might get Meghan to make her famous lemon olive oil cake. The mother-of-two has been known to bake a sweet treat using lemons that she picks from citrus trees in her backyard garden.

Will Archie watch the Coronation with his family on his birthday after all that anticipation? When he and Lilibet see their father Harry on TV, we can just picture their faces lighting up.
