How Prince Harry knew his future wife was ‘The One’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been married for three years, but they dated for several months before getting engaged. This is the precise moment when Harry realised Meghan was “the one” for him.

After months of speculation, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their engagement in November 2017. Harry had been dating Meghan, then an actress, for several months at the time, and royal fans were eager to see if the two would marry.

What brought Harry and Meghan together?

The couple said they were introduced by a “mutual friend” in their sit-down interview following their engagement announcement.

Meghan accompanied Harry on a trip to Botswana at one point, and the couple had been quietly dating.

However, royal fans were ecstatic to hear Meghan speak about how “really happy and in love” the couple was in the October issue of Vanity Fair, which was published a month before their engagement was announced.

She told the publication: “I can tell you that, at the end of the day, I believe it is quite straightforward.

“We’re two people who are genuinely happy and in love with each other.

“We had been dating quietly for about six months before it became public, and I was working the entire time, and the only thing that changed was people’s perception.” Nothing had changed about me.”

Clarence House would announce Meghan and Harry’s engagement a month later, with a wedding date set for spring 2018.

During his engagement interview, Harry stated that he chose his mother’s diamonds to “ensure that she’s with us on this crazy journey together.”

The ring’s central stone came from Botswana, a country dear to the couple’s hearts.

The proposal took place at their London home on a “cosy night,” according to Meghan.
