According to a royal biographer, Meghan and Prince Harry may release a film on Netflix.
Finding Freedom co-author Omid Scobie claimed he recently had a “very interesting conversation” with Netflix executives. Mr Scobie also believes the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who retired from royal duties last year to start a new life in California, will make a film announcement in the near future.
“I had a very interesting conversation with some executives at Netflix recently,” he said on the Royally Obsessed podcast.
“I was attempting to gain some ground on the Sussexes.
“All they said to me was, ‘Oh man, you haven’t seen half of what they’re working on.’ They’re shooting for the stars.’
“So, I think the one thing that might surprise us at some point – and I have no idea when that will be – and this is just my own guess… I believe this is the time when we’ll hear something about a movie.”
“It’s only a matter of time before they get the rights to a truly incredible story that they can bring to life through a movie or a television drama,” he continued.
“We’ve heard a lot about how they’re doing non-scripted work.
There’s an entire department of the production company that is scripted. So it’ll only be a matter of time before we see that come to fruition.
“I think that’s really exciting because it’s a side of them we’ve never seen or heard of before, but it’s also one we know they’re both excited to explore.
“So being able to step into Hollywood a little bit but trying to do it in the way they described – a much more impactful and socially conscious way – that’ll be really interesting.”
Finding Freedom has been described as unauthorised by Harry and Meghan’s lawyers, who claim the authors “do not speak for our clients and appear to rely on unnamed sources.”
