When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle first met, they liked that they didn’t know much about each other.

Meghan and Harry admitted in their engagement interview that they knew very little about each other when they first started dating. It was described as “refreshing” by both of them.

“I learned everything I know about him because of him. Rather than growing up surrounded by various news stories, tabloids, or whatever else,” Meghan explained. “Anything I learned about him and his family, he’d tell me about it. And the other way around. So it was just a really authentic and organic way for both of us to get to know each other.”

“Being able to get to know someone who isn’t necessarily within your circle was hugely refreshing,” Harry added. “I didn’t know much about her, so it was great to be able to start almost from the beginning, learning about each other step by step.”
