Meghan Markle breaks down in tears in explosive trailer for Netflix documentary

The eagerly awaited documentary Harry & Meghan on Netflix has an official trailer, and it’s filled with plenty of heartbreaking scenes. The six-part series, which will debut on the streaming service on December 8, follows the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as they reveal the other side of their well-known love story.

The trailer includes a number of the couple’s personal images, including one of Meghan crying with her head in her hands, probably while on a phone call, and provides an incredibly personal look at Harry and Meghan’s early courtship and the difficulties they’ve faced since.

A voice-over by Prince Harry, who explains his decision to participate in the documentary, is layered over the touching scene. As the trailer pans to show Meghan sobbing, he says, “No one sees what’s going on behind closed doors.”

There is a brief clip of the couple sitting on a sofa together, with Harry gazing up at the ceiling and Meghan wiping tears from her face. This is just one of a few instances in which we see the Duchess struggling.

The dramatic trailer ends with Meghan asking: “Does it make more sense to hear our story from us when the stakes are this high?”

The documentary’s two-time Academy Award nominee, Emmy winner, and highly regarded director Liz Garbus will also feature commentary from friends and family, the majority of whom have never before shared what they saw in public.
