Meghan Markle’s rare insight into Archie and Lilibet’s sibling bond

The Duchess of Sussex has revealed tidbits about her life with Prince Harry and their two children, Archie and Lilibet. They also delighted fans earlier this week when they shared a brand new image of Lilibet to commemorate her first birthday – a photograph taken at her first birthday party in London.

Meghan, on the other hand, surprised royal watchers in November when she spoke publicly for the first time about Archie and Lilibet’s sibling relationship on The Ellen Degeneres Show.

In June 2021, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan welcomed their second child, Lilibet, who was named after the Queen’s childhood nickname, and have kept their home life in California’s Montecito district extremely private since then.

However, in a rare interview with Meghan’s close friend Ellen, the royal mother spoke candidly about her two young children, ages two and five months, and revealed their endearing bond.

“Is he a good big brother?” Ellen inquired about Meghan’s son Archie. “He loves being a big brother!” the Duchess replied.

She went on to say: “Someone once told H (Harry) and me that having one child is a hobby, but having two children is parenting. We suddenly realized, oh, right, everyone talks about what it’s like to have a second child, but no one ever talks about how the first child adjusts when the second one arrives. So, I believe they have that ‘Oh, this is fun…oh, this is how it is now’ moment.”

“Well, he’s sweet!” Ellen replied.

On the show, Meghan also shared a new photo of Archie, which showed the toddler feeding chickens in the family’s garden. In the photo, Archie was wearing jeans, a grey T-shirt, and yellow wellies.

In the interview, we also learned about Archie and Lilibet’s adorable Halloween costumes. Meghan stated: “We wanted to do something fun for the kids, but they were completely uninterested. For about five minutes, Archie was a dinosaur. Harry persuaded him to put the head on after only five minutes. Lilibet, on the other hand, was a skunk, and she was adorable. Bambi’s flower, she was called.”

Lilibet was teething teething at the time, so there were a few sleepless nights for the family. “She is a good sleeper, but the teeth are coming in,” Meghan explained. “Any mom will understand where you go, they may be the best in the world, but you have so much sympathy when that happens, so yes, I am up most of the night.”

Meghan has a ‘great teething thing’ that she keeps in the freezer to soothe Lilibet’s gums, according to Ellen. To us, it sounds like a typical family home life!
