The Duke and Duchess of Sussex lived at Frogmore Cottage before moving to America

Meghan Markle’s very normal home life revealed in private kitchen photo

In a video taken from their Netflix series Harry & Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex demonstrated that they were a regular couple.

After getting married in 2018, the couple moved into Frogmore Cottage, which was a gift from Harry’s late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

Wearing a pink rib-knit dress, Meghan sat at a table charging her phone while doing her nails. This was a far more practical sight than one might anticipate, given that the royal probably could have hired a beauty team to assist.

Wearing blue pants and a white shirt, Prince Harry was standing close by, enjoying a yogurt snack.

The couple’s small kitchen was visible in the background. The room featured white walls and herringbone wood floors, and in the center of the space was a rustic wooden island unit with a white worktop. Overlooking the island with multiple wooden stools for the couple to host guests, three lights hung.

Although the oven is hidden from view, it was visible in another unposed picture that was shot following the Mountbatten Music Festival, a unique night to support the Royal Marines Association.

Two months after it was made public that Harry and Meghan had decided to resign as senior royals, the event took place in 2020.

Harry dressed in his military uniform, and Meghan looked stunning in a vivid red calf-length gown by Safiyaa. Seated on the kitchen counter, Meghan had taken off her cape and planted a kiss on her husband, who had taken off his jacket.

We had a great time there, Harry wrote. “Right from the opening minute. We had the impression that we were meant to be there. We were eager to get up in the morning, take a leisurely stroll through the gardens, and visit the swans. Particularly sullen Steve.

“We got to know the names of all the flowers and the gardeners who worked for the Queen. They were overjoyed to hear how much we valued and complimented their artistic abilities.

The Sussexes officially moved out of the four-bedroom home on June 29, 2023, after moving to America to raise their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. They had returned the £2.4 million used to pay for the renovation and rental of the cottage.

The Grade II Crown Estate property in Windsor Home Park does not have any new tenants, according to Palace officials at the yearly Sovereign Grant briefing.

“Frogmore Cottage has remained empty during the year,” a Palace official stated during the briefing. I wouldn’t think to guess who will live in the cottage in the future at this time.”

He continued: “The Sovereign Grant has been fully reimbursed for the refurbishment costs of Frogmore cottage when it was initially provided to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and, therefore, there is no cost to the Sovereign Grant other than some routine maintenance, but it would be required for any of the buildings.”
