Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Could Do Another Interview With Oprah to ‘Readdress Their Truth,’ Royal Expert Claims

Even if you didn’t tune in to Oprah Winfrey’s primetime special with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on March 7, 2021, you were undoubtedly aware of it. What the Sussexes said about their time as senior royals was so shocking that it’s still a hot topic among royal watchers, and experts have been debating how to tell fact from fiction ever since the interview aired.

Now, a royal commentator claims that the duke and duchess have discussed doing another interview with the former talk show host to bolster their credibility and address some of the points that have been refuted by others. The following is what he said came from Oprah’s team.

Several of Meghan and Harry’s claims during the Oprah interview have been disputed or refuted.
One of the claims Meghan made in her interview with Oprah that has been debunked is that she and the prince married secretly three days before the actual royal wedding, which was watched by millions of people around the world. That is not the case, according to the archbishop who married the couple.

He told the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, “I had a number of private and pastoral meetings with the duke and duchess before the wedding.” “On Saturday [May 19, 2018], the legal wedding took place. I signed the wedding certificate, which is a legal document, and if I had signed it knowing it was false, I would have committed a serious criminal offense. So you can make whatever you want. The legal wedding, however, was on Saturday.”

Meghan and Harry were not married before May 19, according to the archbishop and Stephen Borton, the former chief clerk at the Faculty Office, who said the duchess was “obviously confused and clearly misinformed.”

Meghan also told Oprah that she couldn’t leave the palace for months, even to do things like have lunch with her friends, and that she would ask, “Can I go have lunch with my friends?” “No, no, no, you’re oversaturated, you’re everywhere, it’s best for you not to go out to lunch with your friends,” people at The Firm would tell her.

However, biographer Andrew Morton, author of Meghan: A Hollywood Princess, countered that she was held as a royal prisoner inside the palace. “She claimed that she had only left the house twice in a four-month period, implying that she was a lonely prisoner… “However, she was seen out on numerous occasions: dinner and lunch appointments in Notting Hill, beauty treatments in Kensington, and various shopping trips,” Morton wrote in the book’s updated chapters (per Newsweek). “Despite the fact that she was photographed by paparazzi, British newspapers refused to purchase photographs of her outings.”

According to a royal expert, some in Oprah’s camp want the Sussexes to’readdress their truth.’

As a result, royal expert Neil Sean believes Meghan and Harry are under pressure to do a second interview with Oprah and “readdress their truth.”

“What’s interesting is that, in light of the backlash and revelations that have surfaced… “Even Oprah Winfrey’s camp is now questioning and wondering what the true story was behind some of those [answers],” Sean explained [to Express]. According to Sean, some in Oprah’s camp are “wondering whether they now need to do a top-up interview” to restore the Sussexes’ credibility, adding, “Oprah Winfrey is a very powerful television mogul and would no doubt like to get a top-up version, their side of events, over what has happened over the past 6-9 months.”

While Sean thinks a second interview would be “amazing,” he doesn’t think the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would agree to it now because they would “stew in their seats” if they were subjected to another round of questioning.

We’ll have to see if there’s a Part 2 of Oprah with Meghan and Harry: A CBS Primetime Special.
