According to a Netflix spokesperson, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are still shining brighter than ever, dispelling any rumors of unrest in their relationship.
The streaming giant is stressing the strength of its ongoing partnership with the Sussexes’ production company despite the circulating rumors.
“We value our relationship with Archewell Productions very highly. The most spectacular documentary debut on Netflix to date was Harry & Meghan when it first debuted. We have an exciting journey ahead of us with them. The eagerly anticipated documentary series Heart of Invictus is one of the many projects we are currently working on together, the spokesperson told ET.
After the Sussexes left the UK for sunny California in March 2020 and stepped down as senior royal members, their thrilling journey officially began. They subsequently inked a noteworthy contract—rumored to be worth a cool $100 million—with Netflix.
When their documentary Harry & Meghan was released at the end of 2022, it shattered all previous records and became an instant hit. Despite this extraordinary success, rumors surfaced that Netflix was pressuring the couple to develop additional projects to secure the remainder of their contract.
Harry’s Heart of Invictus, set to debut in August, is the upcoming production.
Despite what appears to be a hiccup in their relationship with Spotify, Meghan and Harry continue to move forward. The royal couple’s partnership with Spotify has come to an end, with Meghan’s 12-episode season of the podcast Archetypes being the last.
According to a spokesperson, “Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together.”
Meghan has positive memories despite her Spotify endeavor coming to an end. “I enjoyed getting lost in the creative process and staying up late to work on the creative and writing aspects. I delighted in sharing lessons and laughter with my diverse and inspirational guests during in-depth, meaningful conversations. She wrote on the Archewell website, “It has been such a labor of love.
The Duchess of Sussex had fascinating conversations with famous people throughout the 12 episodes, including tennis great Serena Williams, singer Mariah Carey, socialite Paris Hilton, and renowned actors Mindy Kaling and Constance Wu.
Unexpectedly, the People’s Choice Award-winning podcast that won the Top Podcast honor in December will not have a second season.
We’re working on other ways to keep the conversation going, but as we close out this season of Archetypes, I thank you, Meghan said in the final episode. Thank you for participating in our learning together. This has been enjoyable, healing, and liberating.
