The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will visit the UK again the following month to begin a busy schedule that includes several charity events.
We take a look at their home in the UK and compare it to their opulent Californian mansion because many royal fans are speculating about whether the couple will spend time with their royal relatives.
The Queen gave permission for Frogmore Cottage, which is close to her opulent Windsor estate, to serve as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s official home. The royal residence, like Buckingham Palace, is a part of the Crown Estate but does not belong to Her Majesty personally.
Although Harry, 37, and Meghan, 41, have since traded their charming UK home for an opulent Montecito mansion, they recently extended their lease on the house for another year.
The couple last used their home during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee festivities, and a return trip is anticipated for September.
The cottage underwent extensive renovations before Harry and Meghan decided to make it their home in 2019. The couple chose to turn the Grade II-listed property into a single five-bedroom family home.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex paid for their opulent renovations after they left their positions as senior royals, despite the fact that they reportedly cost the tax payer £2.4 million.
Harry and Meghan have decided to continue using Frogmore Cottage as their UK home even though they will be leaving the country in 2020. And the couple graciously allowed Princess Eugenie, her husband Jack Brooksbank, and their infant son August to move into the house in November 2020.
An insider at the time revealed to HELLO! that Eugenie and Harry had always been close and frequently spoke in private.
Harry proposed that she and Jack use Frogmore Cottage since it is significantly larger than their cottage at Kensington Palace. It’s an instance of one family member helping another.
According to recent reports, Prince Harry’s cousin recently moved out and will now split her time between their new home in Portugal and Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace.
The Queen’s impressive Frogmore House, a royal residence since 1792, is also situated on her Windsor estate. The magnificent country house got its unusual name because there were so many frogs to be found in the nearby marshland areas.
Numerous royal events, including the wedding receptions of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and Peter Phillips and Autumn Kelly, have taken place at the residence over the years.
The property is now being used as a tourist destination, and this year’s opening dates are set for 1-26 August. Visitors can explore the elaborate interiors and breathtaking gardens surrounding the building.
Chateau of Riven Rock
The current home of Prince Harry and Meghan is the £11 million Montecito mansion in Santa Barbara, California. According to reports, the couple chose the area based on Oprah Winfrey’s advice and moved there in July 2020.
The secluded hillside estates in the mountainous neighborhood are renowned for providing the utmost privacy. Celebrities like Tom Cruise and Ellen DeGeneres have flocked to the community as a result of its remote location.
The nine-bedroom home has 18,000 square feet and is well-equipped for all requirements. The main house has a gym, a games room, an arcade, a movie theater, a wine cellar, an office, a library, a spa with separate dry and wet saunas, a gym, a games room, and a garage with room for five cars.
The couple, in contrast to Frogmore Cottage, have given sporadic glimpses of the luxurious interiors of the house. Meghan’s private office, which exudes sophistication and features natural colors and rustic furniture, is a haven of peace. The couple has also decorated their living room with contemporary art, fresh flowers, candles, and organic pottery.
Moving outside, Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1, can play in the perfect natural playground on Harry and Meghan’s property. The two have made their very own vegetable patch in an effort to replicate some of the magic found at Frogmore Cottage.
In addition, a chicken coop housing rescued hens from a nearby farm is part of their seven-acre garden. In honor of their son, the couple has built a cute sign that reads “Archie’s Chick Inn” outside the pen.
They can also take their kids to an adventure playground, a climbing frame, a helter-skelter, and two different climbing walls, among other outdoor attractions.
In addition to their garden, Harry and Meghan have access to a magnificent outdoor pool with lounge chairs so they can enjoy the scorching California sun.
