As his case against Mirror Group Newspapers progresses, Prince Harry will on Tuesday give the first royal testimony in more than 20 years.
The father of two must first travel to the UK because he will be present starting on Monday.
It’s likely that Harry will decide to spend time with his family before traveling to London given how quickly he returned to California after the coronation of the King and Queen Consort on May 6 and the fact that his daughter Princess Lilibet turns two on Sunday.
Due to the coronation, the royal missed the majority of his son Prince Archie’s fourth birthday celebrations last month. After the ceremony, he immediately left for home, skipping all of the festivities and the concert the following day.
What is Prince Harry’s court case?
The Prince and other prominent individuals have filed a lawsuit against Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN) for alleged illegal information gathering, including phone hacking. The cases of four representative claimants, including Harry, have been chosen for trial.
The other three are comedian Paul Whitehouse’s ex-wife Fiona Wightman, actors Michael Turner and Nikki Sanderson from Coronation Street, and them.
Since Harry’s aunt Princess Anne had to appear in court back in 2002 to enter a plea to a charge under the Dangerous Dogs Act after her pet English Bull Terrier Dotty bit two children in Windsor Great Park, it will be more than 20 years before a member of the royal family has testified.
How will Harry and Meghan celebrate Lilibet’s birthday?
Doria Ragland, Meghan’s mother, is probably going to attend the family’s intimate celebration at their secluded Montecito home.
On Valentine’s Day 2021, the Duke and Duchess announced the impending arrival of their second child by releasing two unique photos taken by Meghan’s close friend Misan Harriman.
In an earlier post, photographer Misan reminisced about the noteworthy announcement, reposting the images and writing, “Two years ago today, I helped my friends announce some wonderful news.”
Images captured using Zoom show Meghan cradling her growing baby while resting her head on her husband’s lap. At Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born on June 4, 2021. Her parents made a public announcement about her arrival two days later.
Harry detailed the occasion he assisted in bringing his daughter into the world in his memoir Spare, which was published in January 2023.
“I slid my hands under the tiny back and neck,” he wrote. I drew our precious daughter from that world into this one gently but firmly, as I had seen in movies. I held her for a brief moment while trying to smile at her and see her, but I couldn’t see anything.
“Hello,” I wanted to say. I wanted to ask: From where are you? I wanted to ask: Is that place better? Is it tranquil? Do you feel afraid? All will be well, so don’t be, don’t be. I’ll protect you.
