Prince Harry wears cowboy hat as he tours famous Rodeo in Texas

On Saturday, Prince Harry was seen at the Stockyards Championship Rodeo in Fort Worth, Texas.
This weekend, Prince Harry showed up in an unexpected place: a famous rodeo in Fort Worth, Texas. On Saturday, the Duke of Sussex was spotted wearing a green cowboy hat while attending the Stockyards Championship Rodeo at Cowtown Coliseum.

“Prince Harry traded his family’s crown for a cowboy hat on a weekend visit to Cowtown,” a local paper in Forth Worth wrote. The duke “enjoyed some good ol’ Southern hospitality” and was given a “VIP tour of the venue,” according to royal reporter Omid Scobie.

“What happened to Prince Harry on Saturday night? At the Stockyards Championship Rodeo, I was just hanging out behind the bucking chutes!! It’s fantastic!! Thank you for stopping by!!” Cindy Reid, the Stockyards Championship Rodeo secretary, captioned a photo on Facebook, according to People. Since then, the Instagram account has been deactivated.

Similarly, Melton Bull Company, which raises and trains rodeo and competition bulls and is a partner of the Stockyards Rodeo, shared but quickly removed the same image, writing, “This week, Prince Harry was spotted at the rodeo… We have a lot of rodeo royalty here, but this is the first time I’ve seen a prince. He claimed he was going to compete in bull riding but that his rigging bag had been lost by the airline….”
In the newly circulated photo of Prince Harry, he does not appear to be pleased to be photographed.

It’s unlikely that Prince Harry flew to Fort Worth for the sole purpose of attending a rodeo. He might have been there on business or to see a friend, but it wasn’t his first time hanging out with cowboys and horses. His grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, is known for her equestrian interests, and Prince Harry followed in her footsteps in 2003. He worked as a jacakroo, or cowboy, in Tooloombilla, Queensland, Australia, during his gap year.

Prince Harry has participated in a number of all-American activities since moving to the United States with his wife Meghan Markle in 2020. Harry and his cousin Princess Eugenie attended the Super Bowl last month, where Harry met Mickey Guyton, the country singer who sang the national anthem.

Harry and Meghan were honored with the NAACP President’s Award at the 53rd annual NAACP Image Awards two weeks ago. “It’s safe to say I come from a very different background than my incredible wife, but our lives were brought together for a reason,” Prince Harry said. “We share a commitment to a life of service, a responsibility to combat injustice, and a belief that the most overlooked are the most important to listen to,” says the group.
