Prior to his father King Charles’ historic coronation on Saturday, Prince Harry is said to have arrived in the UK. A private jet from the Californian airport of Van Nuys was seen landing at Farnborough, which is the airport closest to Windsor Castle, in recently released photos that MailOnline obtained.
Meghan has stayed in the US with the couple’s children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, rather than traveling to the UK. The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on May 6, Buckingham Palace was pleased to confirm in a brief statement back in April. Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet will stay in California with the Duchess of Sussex.
Harry’s stay in the UK is unknown, but it appears that he will want to return home as soon as possible to celebrate his son Prince Archie’s fourth birthday. For the first time since he wrote about his tense relationship with the royals in his memoir, Spare, Harry will be seen in a public setting alongside Charles, Camilla, his brother the Prince of Wales, sister-in-law the Princess of Wales, and the rest of his family.
Additionally, it will be the first time he has been photographed with them since his grandmother, the late Queen, was buried in September. In the three years since Harry and Meghan retired as senior working royals, the couple has criticized the monarchy. They have shared their experiences in a Netflix documentary and an Oprah Winfrey interview.
The King approved the request earlier this year for the couple to leave their Frogmore Cottage home in the UK. What will be done to ensure Harry’s safety while he is in London is not yet known.
Harry is rumored to have no special role in the coronation; whether he will join the royal family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace for the celebrations that follow is still up in the air. A concert at Windsor Castle and Big Lunch events are scheduled for the Sunday, and Bank Holiday Monday has been designated for volunteering and is being dubbed the “Big Help Out” as part of a weekend of royal celebrations.
Harry made a surprise appearance at the High Court at the end of March to file a separate lawsuit against Associated Newspapers over claims of improper information gathering. This was the last time Harry was seen in the public in the UK. The Duke, however, was not said to have met with his father or brother during his brief visit, according to reports at the time.
