Prince William and Kate Middleton enjoy secret London meet-up with Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie

Tom Cruise, Hollywood royalty, is said to have treated Prince William and Kate Middleton to the ultimate date night!

The royal couple reportedly attended a private screening of the highly anticipated Top Gun sequel at an IMAX cinema in London’s bustling Leicester Square, according to The Sun.

The event was reportedly organized by leading man Tom after learning that Prince William, a trained RAF helicopter pilot, was a huge fan of the original film.

The action thriller was seen by William and Kate with some of their family and close friends, including the Countess of Wessex, Princess Beatrice, and Princess Eugenie, ahead of its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival next month.

Tom plays the iconic pilot Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell at the US Navy’s elite fighter weapons school in the first Top Gun film, which was released in 1986.

The upcoming film was supposed to be released in 2019, but it was postponed so that the flying sequences could be improved. Then, shortly after, the pandemic threw the schedule into even more disarray.

After being spotted sitting near one another at Wembley Stadium for the Euro 2020 in July, it appears that the royal couple and blockbuster star Tom have formed a friendship.

Tom, 59, had been filming Mission: Impossible 7 in London at the time, and had a busy weekend, attending both Wimbledon finals with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as well as the Euro 2020 final.

The actor has a history with royalty, having met the late Duke of Edinburgh at a Buckingham Palace dinner in 2017 to commemorate the Outward Bound Trust’s 75th anniversary. In 1997, Tom, his then-wife Nicole Kidman, and American film director Steven Spielberg attended Princess Diana’s funeral.
