On Saturday, Prince William and Kate Middleton arrived in Belize to begin their week-long Caribbean tour.
The couple flew for 11 hours on the RAF Voyager and pleased fans on Instagram by posting a photo from inside the jet as they prepared to walk down the plane’s stairs to be greeted by Belize’s Governor General Froya Tzalam.
The couple shared a number of photos from their first day on Instagram, but it was the first one that drew the most attention because it was taken inside the ministerial jet.
“Welcome to Belize, our first stop on our Caribbean adventure!” The caption was all that was on the post.
The photograph depicted William and Kate standing in front of the plane’s door from behind.
“The first image is just breathtaking. I’m looking forward to the rest of the tour! “One person commented on the photograph.
Another person added: “These photos are fantastic. I’m really looking forward to following your adventures in those beautiful locations.”
Kate chose a lovely all-blue Jenny Packham combination for their first day overseas, while William looked dapper in a grey suit.
Following their arrival, the pair went to see Prime Minister Johnny Briceno.
When William and his wife arrived, he informed them, “It’s good to be here.”
“Thank you so much,” said the Prime Minister, adding, “We’re so glad you’re here!”
“In the drive, there were a lot of questions,” Kate chuckled, apparently alluding to William.
The Prime Minister and his wife then asked Kate and William to sit in a lounge area of his ocean-view office building.
“It’s such a beautiful view,” Kate added.
The tour is in honor of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, and one of the highlights will be the couple renewing their friendly athletic rivalry when they compete in a sailing regatta in the Bahamas to commemorate the monarch’s 70-year reign.
