Tuesday, May 2, will mark Princess Charlotte’s eighth birthday, just a few days before she will play a significant role at her grandfather King Charles III’s coronation.
The Princess of Wales reportedly brought her daughter to see Cinderella performed by The Royal Ballet and the National Ballet of Canada on Saturday night at the Royal Opera House as a birthday treat.
The royal’s unexpected attendance was confirmed by Twitter user Barbara Davies. “First time seeing #Cinderella at @TheRoyalOpera in @CoventGardenLDN. A great cast gave fantastic performances in a wonderful ballet. And who ought to be present? Princess Charlotte and her friends with The Princess of Wales.
Princess Charlotte was seen entering the stage at the conclusion of the ballet, joining the dancers for photos, and waving an illuminated star wand as she pranced across the stage in a video posted by the royal fan account @catherinemiddletonofwales on Instagram.

The video appears to show Princess Charlotte sharing the stage with the Princess of Wales along with a number of her friends at the emotional event.
Princess Catherine, 41, appeared as stylish as ever in slick wide-leg pants and a Ghost ‘Boo’ Ivory Blouse. The royal put on a pair of pointed black suede ballet flats from Boden and channeled her inner ballerina.
Small-size icon Princess Charlotte radiated feminine charm in a delicate floral tea dress and a ballerina bun for her brunette hair.
The young royal was undoubtedly thrilled to receive the gift of a ballet viewing. Charlotte’s love of dance was first mentioned by Princess Catherine in 2017 when she said that Charlotte “absolutely loves [ballet].”
When asked about Charlotte’s pastime, Prince William responded, “Charlotte is running around the kitchen in her dresses and ballet stuff and everything.”
Ballet is one of the dance styles taught at Charlotte’s new school, Lambrook, which will have delighted her since she is an avid dancer.
