Together with Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden, the Prince and Princess of Wales had a glamorous evening at the Royal Variety Performance on Thursday night.
It was Prince William and Kate’s first public appearance since the publication of Endgame, the contentious royal book written by Omid Scobie, which was released on Tuesday.
However, the couple was beaming as they arrived at London’s Royal Albert Hall, holding hands and displaying a rare PDA.
Princess Kate, 41, seemed to honor the Swedish flag by wearing an evening gown by Safiyaa that was teal and featured dramatic split sleeves.
She framed her face with her fringe, wore her hair in a bouncy blowdry, and accessorised with bold jewellery.
Crown Princess Victoria, 46, dazzled in an off-the-shoulder black gown by Swedish designer Toteme, complete with feathers.
The brunette royal from Sweden accessorised her look with chunky gold jewellery while sporting her signature sleek bun.
With their stylish tuxedos, Prince William and Prince Daniel looked dapper as the group watched the show from the royal box.
The Swedish royal family, along with the Prince and Princess, met with performers and representatives of the Royal Variety Charity prior to the show. The charity provides care and support to those in the entertainment industry who are in need.
William and Kate had a conversation with Daphne Selfe, who is among the oldest supermodels still in the industry. The Princess gave the 95-year-old praise for her red feather cuffs and silver dress.
“Hi Daphne, I adore what you’re wearing. She looks amazing,” she remarked.
Upon hearing the Absolutely Fabulous actress mention the Princess’s height, Kate chuckled and said, “I’m cheating because I’m wearing high heels.”
William grinned and said, “I don’t have high heels on yet.”
Prior to their joint outing, the Waleses had a meeting at Windsor Castle with the royals of Sweden. Prince Daniel and Crown Princess Victoria are currently in the middle of a three-day visit to the United Kingdom.
Images from their meeting were posted on William and Kate’s official Instagram account, along with the statement, “A pleasure to welcome The Crown Princess of Sweden and Prince Daniel to Windsor this morning.”
2018 saw the then-Duke and Duchess of Cambridge travel to Sweden and Norway as part of a royal tour while Kate was expecting her third child, Prince Louis.
The Chase presenter Bradley Walsh emceed the star-studded event, which featured performances by American megastar Cher, a commemoration of Disney’s 100th anniversary, and comedian Viggo Venn, the 2023 winner of Britain’s Got Talent.
Disney’s 100th anniversary was celebrated at the Royal Variety Performance by the casts of The Lion King, Frozen, Aladdin, Hercules, and Beauty & the Beast.
Pop singer Zara Larsson, pop singer Rick Astley, singer-songwriter Paloma Faith, and pop rock group McFly all made an appearance on stage alongside Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham, who will be backed by the English National Opera (ENO) chorus.
Beverley Knight, an actress and singer, Sister Act cast members, Malevo, an Argentine dance group, and a special appearance by Derren Brown from his West End production of Unbelievable were also scheduled to perform.
The teenage winner of Channel 4’s competition show The Piano, Lucy, joined pianist Lang Lang and Spice Girls singer Melanie Chisholm in a tribute to theatre producer Bill Kenwright.
