Princess Kate reunites with royal family members in surprise Balmoral appearance

The Princess of Wales, her husband Prince William, and their son Prince George were photographed at Crathie Kirk on the Balmoral estate earlier today. Catherine, 42, was present to attend a Sunday service, making her first appearance at the Scottish church since receiving the news that she had cancer in March.

When the mother-of-three was seen arriving at Crathie Kirk, she made a grand entrance wearing a brown coat with a check pattern from Holland Cooper and a feathered fedora hat. Catherine paired her naturally flowing chestnut hair with a bold pair of gold earrings.

James, the Earl of Wessex, Sir Tim Laurence, King Charles and Queen Camilla, and the Wales family were all present at the family celebration.

Currently, Prince William and Princess Catherine are in Scotland visiting the King during his yearly summer vacation at Balmoral. The couple has a history of traveling in economy to Inverness Airport with their three kids.

William and Catherine had been spending time at Anmer Hall, their Norfolk house near the Sandringham estate, before their travels, where the Princess had filmed a video in August.

William and Catherine uploaded a video of themselves on the grounds of their royal residence along with a message congratulating Team GB on all of their hard work at the Paris Olympics. Catherine grinned and said, “Congratulations to Team GB,” to the camera. “Congrats on all that you’ve accomplished. We’ve all found inspiration in you,” William continued.

Catherine was sporting a white and navy striped T-shirt and was looking happy as he proudly wore a Team GB polo. Since the video’s August 11 release, Catherine has stayed out of the spotlight; however, earlier this month, the Wales family was spotted enjoying a Nerf gun battle at Bear Grylls’ Go Wild festival at Holkham Hall.

This year, the Princess hasn’t made as many public appearances as usual. She attended the Men’s Wimbledon final in July and Trooping the Colour in June, but she is still receiving preventative chemotherapy.

In February, Catherine started her treatment, and by June, she had verified that she was making “good progress,” being open about the fact that she experiences “good days and bad days”. “I am not out of the woods yet,” the 42-year-old said, mentioning that she had been working from home.

“I will continue to receive treatment for a few more months. When I’m feeling well enough, I love to participate in school activities, spend time doing the things that make me feel good about myself, and I’ve even started working from home a little bit,” the royal said.
