Regarding a pastime they both enjoy, Princess Charlotte, the eight-year-old daughter of the Princess of Wales, has been receiving advice.
At Thursday night’s Royal Variety Performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall, Kate, 41, had a conversation with Chinese pianist Lang Lang.
He shared the stage with 13-year-old Lucy, a visually impaired and autistic girl he had come upon while listening to a public piano in a train station.
“Her Royal Highness was asking me how long we were practising together and how we found Lucy,” Lang Lang stated.
“We were talking about how we found her in Leeds Train Station, and how everything happened magically and how I’m so happy to play with her.”
“We talked about Charlotte,” he continued. Charlotte’s piano playing was mentioned by Her Royal Highness; I’m sure she’s talented.
“Her Royal Highness told me that she told Princess Charlotte, ‘Hey, look, you can be like him if you practise a lot.'”
“I’m glad to be of some assistance, then. It’s hilarious, and I thought, “Wow, I bet she’ll play the piano well.” She appears to be practicing.
