According to reports on Saturday, the Princess of Wales has left for Sandringham, where she will spend half term with her husband, Prince William, and their kids.
The Princess left on Friday morning with the Prince of Wales and their children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, according to Richard Eden of ‘the Mail’. The group was headed to the royal estate in Norfolk, where King Charles is currently staying.
After her scheduled abdominal surgery 12 days ago, Catherine was discharged from the hospital and has been recuperating at home in Adelaide Cottage, Windsor.
The Princess’s surgery was described as “successful” by Kensington Palace in their health statement, and it is anticipated that she will not resume her royal duties until after Easter. Nothing is known about the specifics of Catherine’s surgery yet.
Prince William, who took time off to support his family, returned to royal duties on Wednesday, capping a historic week for the Wales family.
William thanked the public for their support of his father and wife during an investiture ceremony he hosted at Windsor Castle. Later that evening, he attended a charity gala dinner for London Air Ambulance.
The Prince thanked the audience on stage on Wednesday for their kind words of support for the King and Princess Catherine.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you… for the kind messages of support that you have sent my father and Catherine, especially in the last few days,” the speaker stated. It is very important to all of us.”
“It’s reasonable to say that the last few weeks have centered a lot on medicine. I therefore reasoned that I would attend an air ambulance event to escape everything.”
The King has been diagnosed with cancer after a prostate operation; the exact type of cancer is unknown, but he has a regular treatment plan and will be taking a leave of absence from public duties while his condition is being treated. This information was made public on Monday night.
An update on the King’s health was provided on Thursday by Queen Camilla, who also happened to attend her first public event this week following the news of her husband’s cancer.
She said to Ben Abbott, 40, a critical care paramedic with Wiltshire Air Ambulance, “He’s doing extremely well under the circumstances, he’s very touched by all the letters and the messages the public have been sending from everywhere – that’s very cheering.”
