King Charles will be crowned on May 6

Princess of Wales hints at outfit for King Charles’ coronation

The Princess of Wales has provided a rare preview of her attire for the coronation of King Charles III on May 6. On Friday, April 21, Alison Hammond of ITV’s morning show This Morning revealed that Catherine had told her there would be a “hint of blue” in her attire.

‘What are you wearing for the coronation?’ I asked. Because, as the TV host recalled, “I’m feeling like you’re going to wear blue,” and Catherine reportedly responded, “There is a hint of blue.”

Alison exclaimed, “So I was like, fantastic!”

On Thursday, April 20, the royal mother-of-three met Alison in Birmingham, England, where Catherine was joined by Prince William to honor the city’s rich cultural heritage.

Catherine accessorized her stunning Karen Millen burgundy dress with matching heels. It had a deep V-neckline, a belted waist that was nipped in, and a pleated skirt. She completed her look with her stunning Sezane “Dina” earrings, which were purported to be her husband’s 2022 Christmas gift to her.

The Princess will undoubtedly bring her signature glamor to the historic event, so the focus of conversation has now shifted to what the 41-year-old might wear to the coronation.

In an interview with HELLO! Fashion Monthly, renowned stylist and creative director Lady Alice Manners said, “When it comes to this coronation she will play a pivotal role and have the world’s eyes on her, which she will of course rise to, especially on the fashion front.”

HFM style editor Laura Weatherburn continued, “While I’m sure The Princess of Wales’ stylist will have contacted Sarah Burton for a custom Alexander McQueen look, I’d love to see the Duchess dip into some key SS23 trends.”

Another outfit that would “doff the cap to the old school glamour of coronations gone by” is suggested by Alice, who also recommended Alexander McQueen.

“They accurately read her at those crucial times, and the same thing will happen here.” I’m getting ready for classic, old-school glamor because I can’t wait to see how she dresses,” she said.
