The Queen Consort Camilla is said to be “hurt” by the explosive remarks made by her stepson Prince Harry in his illuminating memoir, Spare.
One of Camilla’s six royal companions, Lady Lansdowne, revealed how the Queen Consort was upset by the Duke’s remarks in an exclusive interview with The Times. “Of course it bothers her, of course it hurts,” she said.
She doesn’t, however, let it affect her. Her motto is always, “Less said, sooner mended — don’t make a thing of it and it will settle down.
Prince Harry wrote a bombshell memoir in which he attacked Camilla, the Queen Consort, in a number of ways. Harry asserted that he and Prince William had begged their father not to remarry. He also said he had questioned whether Camilla would treat him poorly, like a “wicked stepmother,” noting that William had “long harbored suspicions about the Other Woman.”
Harry went on to criticize Camilla personally, claiming that she had a plan to change her reputation as the “other woman” in the public eye.
In addition, the father of two later referred to Camilla as “dangerous” in his interview with Anderson Cooper for 60 Minutes. She needed to improve her reputation because she was the bad guy and a third party in the marriage, Harry said.
“She needs to improve her reputation… Due to the connections she was establishing within the British press, this made her dangerous.
At his father’s coronation on May 6, Prince Harry will reunite with senior members of the royal family. Following months of consideration, Buckingham Palace announced on Wednesday that Prince Harry would be attending.
“Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that the Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on May 6,” the palace said in a statement.
“Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet will stay in California with the Duchess of Sussex.”
The charitable organization Harry and Meghan run, Archewell, released a nearly identical statement to the Palace assuring the duke will attend the coronation.
