Royal fans of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations have pointed out Meghan Markle’s reaction to Kate Middleton as the Duchesses attended a service to honor Her Majesty’s 70 years of service.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made their first public appearance with the Cambridges since Megxit, returning to the UK from their new home in Los Angeles for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Despite the fact that the Duchesses never spoke to each other during Friday’s Thanksgiving Service, royal fans couldn’t help but notice Meghan’s “obvious” snub of Kate as she entered the cathedral.
Meghan can be seen turning her head away from the Duchess of Cambridge in an apparent refusal to look at her sister-in-law, according to keen observers.
Kitty, a royal fan on Twitter, shared footage from the BBC of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge entering the cathedral.
“Did everyone notice the woman in white hat (Meghan) turned her head to the left when The Duchess of Cambridge was walking past?” Kitty captioned the video.
Many other royal watchers agreed, with many stating that they had also noticed the “reaction.”
“Yes, I noticed this,” one responded, while another added, “It’s also very obvious.”
“Top spot!” said another, who agreed. She definitely shifted her gaze away!”
After experiencing some ‘discomfort’ while attending the first day of celebrations, Trooping the Colour on Thursday, the Queen was unable to attend.
With the exception of Prince Andrew, who is said to be ill with Covid, most other senior royals joined the Sussexes at the cathedral.
Harry and Meghan, on the other hand, decided not to bring their two children, Archie, three, and Lillibet, one, who had only met her great grandmother and monarch for the first time on Thursday.
The “nervous” couple was absent from today’s Pageant and grand finale of the festivities (Sunday, June 5).
