Intimate details from inside the royal household, including a heartwarming anecdote about Prince Harry, have been revealed by a former butler to Prince Charles.
Grant Harrold spent seven years working for Prince Charles after a six-month interview process to get a job in the royal household.

Grant was questioned by Slingo about William and Harry’s childhood following the passing of their mother, Princess Diana, and whether Prince Charles had made an effort to grant her wish that they grow up in a relatively “normal” environment.
This will address your query, he said. “I had just begun my shift, was off duty, and was on my way up to the house to get something when I ran into Prince Harry.
“Since he is only 18 years old, he was asking me if I was alright and if my home was comfortable before asking me, “Have you got food?” Do you want to come for a takeout since we’re going to have one?”

Grant kept going: “Although I declined, I joined them for a brief informal meal while they were eating it. It was a lot of fun, and I concluded that this was clearly how they had been raised.
“The legacy of Diana is still very much felt. Do they treat their kids the same way? I am certain. Although I don’t really know, it wouldn’t surprise me if they frequent KFC or McDonald’s.”
The news is released as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle get ready for their first public appearance in the UK since they joined in on the festivities for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June.

On September 5, the couple will go to the One Young World Summit, where Meghan will also speak.
Before returning to the UK for the WellChild Awards on September 8, Harry and Meghan will spend a brief amount of time in Germany for the Invictus Games Dusseldorf 2023 One Year to Go event.
