The second annual Earthshot Prize awards ceremony was the focus of a three-day tour that the Prince and Princess of Wales undertook on Wednesday by flying to Boston.
William and Kate will travel in electric Range Rovers, unlike previous royal tours. The choice reflects Prince William’s dedication to battling climate change and is very much in line with the green theme of their US tour.

The Prince and Princess of Wales took a commercial British Airways flight in addition to driving electric cars. When they fly commercially, the British royals enjoy flying first class on the renowned flagship airline to support their nation.
Since her parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, used to work for British Airways, Princess Kate is particularly accustomed to taking commercial flights. Talk about an IRL rom-com moment: Carole met her husband Michael, a flight dispatcher, while working as a flight attendant for British Airways.

The Earthshot Prize will be the main focus of the quick trip, and the ceremony itself will be as environmentally friendly as possible. Visitors are encouraged to dress sustainably by wearing recycled, re-used, or vintage clothing.
The late president’s daughter Caroline Kennedy will accompany the royal couple as they tour the country. They will visit the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum.
William and Kate will officially start the countdown to Earthshot, which will be held in Boston on Friday, from Speaker’s Corner by turning City Hall and other well-known structures green.
As they tour the Greentown Labs in the nearby town of Somerville, they will gain insight into the creation of cutting-edge green technologies. They will also learn about the efforts made by local organizations to reduce the risk of rising sea levels to Boston.

The Oscar-winning actor Rami Malek, the stars of Schitt’s Creek and Home Alone, Catherine O’Hara, and Big Little Lies actress Shailene Woodley will all be presenting the Earthshot Prize awards.
