Weddings can be stressful, and those who are a part of the big day may find themselves in tears. Meghan Markle reportedly made Kate Middleton cry during a dress fitting in the months leading up to her wedding, according to reports. Later on, the Duchess of Sussex claimed that the Duchess of Cambridge was the one who made her cry. Even if Meghan did not make Kate cry, it appears that Prince Harry did.

Prince Harry was the best man and ring bearer at Prince William and Kate’s wedding
In a lavish ceremony at Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011, Prince William and Kate married. In front of 2,000 guests and millions more around the world, the couple said their vows.
The Duke of Cambridge chose his younger brother to serve as both his best man and ring bearer on the wedding day. The ring was kept safe in Harry’s military uniform, which included a special pocket.
When Kate was walking down the aisle to meet the groom, Harry turned around to look at her and whispered to William, “Wait ’til you see her.”
Why Harry made Kate cry at the reception
There was a lunchtime reception at Prince Charles’ Clarence House residence following the duke and duchess’ wedding, followed by an evening reception at Buckingham Palace.
The best man gives a speech at many receptions, and Prince Harry did exactly that. According to royal author and commentator Katie Nicholl, some in the audience, including the bride, were moved by Harry’s words.
Harry’s best man speech was described as “touching” in Nicholl’s biography Harry: Life, Loss, and Love. “It was affectionate, warm, and funny and touched William deeply,” she wrote (per Express). “And when he aid the couple’s decade-long romance was his inspiration… Kate shed a tear.”
Nicholl added that “At one point, Harry is said to have called William ‘the perfect brother’ and said he loved Kate ‘like a sister.’”
Prince Harry got his wish
It was in the presence of Harry’s then-girlfriend Chelsey Davy that Harry mentioned William and Kate’s relationship as something he aspired to have. The Duke of Sussex’s relationship with Davy was short-lived, but he found love again.
