The uncle of the Princess of Wales, Gary Goldsmith, made headlines last week when he was announced as the newest cast member of Celebrity Big Brother on Monday night.
Known for his unexpected actions, Gary has already drawn attention from viewers by making peculiar bird noises while appearing on the show.
He says he’s taking part to “set the record straight” for people who have thought of him as a “bad boy.”
Gary made the amusing comment, “if she is, it’ll be from behind a sofa,” in response to AJ’s question about whether the Princess of Wales would be watching during a conversation on the show.

In addition, he called his niece “simply perfect” and said, “Hello, may I offer you a cup of tea?” when he first met Prince William.
In addition, Gary explained how he would deal with his housemates: “I’ll take everyone at face value but if they are a bit mean or a bit rude, I’ll be the enforcer.”
“We all want to be liked, and this is a great chance to show anyone who matters the’real me,’ the goofy, loving, and sinister’me,’ not the evil character that the media often portrays me as,” the 58-year-old said.
“Additionally, as I quickly approach 60, I want to accept most invitations that are extended to me.”
His Big Brother appearance follows a public court case in 2017 in which Goldsmith admitted to assaulting his wife during a drunken argument in which she accused him of using drugs. He was fined and given a community order as a result of the admission.
Gary has been likened to a “toddler on sugar” and has stated that he will require a great deal of entertainment during his time on the show.
“I enjoy a challenge, and I’m not easily scared, but this is really outside of my comfort zone.” He remarked, “I’ll be honest, I’m nervous about myself and the unknown.”
“I’m not good at following directions or staying under control.”

Gary mentioned that living with “rude, insensitive or mean people” would be difficult for him, citing Katie Hopkins, a former Celebrity Big Brother housemate, as an example of such a person.
He claimed to have brought a “extra bag of patience and ear plugs” in addition to a “sense of humor.”
Goldsmith went on to say that he would be “the best version of himself” on the program.
Nevertheless, Sharon Osbourne, a roommate, doesn’t think he’ll be around for very long because she believes he’ll be the first to leave out of the three. “Gary I think, is very nervous and I don’t think he is comfortable yet,” she said.
Being Carole Middleton’s younger brother, this 58-year-old businessman adds a special dynamic to the reality show.
Gary runs a recruitment company and was a familiar face at significant family occasions like Pippa Middleton’s wedding in 2017 and the royal wedding in 2011.
Following her major abdominal surgery last month, Catherine was recently spotted in public in Windsor, which corresponds with his appearance on Celebrity Big Brother.
The images, which were taken by TMZ before 9:00 in the morning, show Catherine, incognito in a black coat and sunglasses, in a car driven by her mother, Carole.
Catherine made her last public appearance on Christmas Day, and this is her first appearance since the announcement of the surgery in January. On January 17, Kensington Palace declared that 42-year-old Catherine was “unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.”

Recently, Kensington Palace responded to rumors circulating on social media concerning Catherine’s whereabouts and public appearances.
Catherine’s spokesperson stated, “We were very clear from the outset that the Princess of Wales was out until after Easter and Kensington Palace would only be providing updates when something was significant.”
This statement was made in addition to one in which Catherine apologized for having to cancel her appointments and indicated that she was looking forward to rescheduling them as soon as possible.
