Kate Middleton Had Emergency Surgery To Remove Lump As Teen, Reveals New Book

The Princess of Wales disclosed her cancer diagnosis in March. In the midst of this heartachingly news, a report in the Independent claims that a new royal biography has disclosed that she underwent emergency surgery to remove a lump from her head when she was a teenager. Rob Jobson, a royal author, mentioned this in his next book, “Catherine, the Princess of Wales.”

“Apart from debilitating bouts of morning sickness and, of course, stays in the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital to deliver her babies, Catherine has fortunately avoided hospital for most of her life,” said Mr. Jobson. “As a teenager, however, when at Marlborough College she discovered a lump on the left side of her head, just under her hairline,” he continued. The author also mentioned that when her mother brought her to the hospital, the medical staff removed it. “The school notified her parents immediately and her mother Carole took her to hospital, where she had surgery to remove it,” the author wrote in his book.

On Ms. Middleton’s first solo engagement more than 20 years ago, a few people noticed a three-inch scar left by the surgery. “The scar is related to a childhood operation,” stated a succinct statement released by Buckingham Palace.

The Princess, meanwhile, reported in June that she was progressing well while receiving prophylactic chemotherapy. Still, she was “not out of the woods”.

Ms. Middleton stated in a private letter that she had been “blown away” by the thousands of thoughtful letters she had received from all over the world since announcing her cancer in March. “I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days,” said the statement.

“On those bad days, you feel weak and exhausted and have to give in to your body’s need for rest,” she continued. However, you want to take full advantage of feeling well on your good days when you feel stronger.” She claimed that they had had a profound impact on both her and her spouse, Prince William, the heir apparent.

“My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months,” she stated. “I’m looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet,” she stated on June 14.

Recently, the Princess of Wales was spotted entering the court at the Wimbledon Men’s Final in London to give the trophy to Carlos Alcaraz, the victor. Catherine, who plays tennis herself and is an avid fan, received a standing ovation when she and her daughter Princess Charlotte and sister Pippa Matthews walked into the Royal Box at Centre Court.
