The long-awaited visit of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to the UK will happen just one month from now. We examine the London locations that are particularly meaningful to the Duchess as the couple anticipates visiting “several charities close to their hearts.”
Meghan and Harry are scheduled to travel to Manchester on Monday, September 5 for the One Young World Summit’s opening ceremony. Prior to returning to London for the WellChild Awards on September 8th, they will first travel to Germany for the Invictus Games Dusseldorf 2023 One Year to Go event.

However, the Duchess might also want to stop by a few other locations in the British capital. There are a few places in London where Meghan developed incredibly strong personal ties, and these places continue to hold a special place in her heart.
Megan Markle’s heartbreaking bond with Mayhew
Meghan revealed that her close friend Oli Juste had passed away unexpectedly months earlier in a lovely but heartbreaking open letter to the charity Mayhew on April 6. “In his memory, we will be creating the Oli Juste wing at Mayhew,” she declared.
“Though my time as patron of Mayhew has come to an end, my unwavering support has not,” Meghan stated in her message.

It was immediately apparent that they were inseparable from the North London-based charity. Oli told Meghan that he had introduced her to Mayhew, and she said, “He knew that I would be drawn to their deep love of community, which transcended the animals themselves, and extended to the people around them. He was accurate. I developed feelings for Mayhew.
When the pandemic struck, Mayhew’s top concern was making sure that both the companion animals of our elderly and more vulnerable service users and themselves were safe. Go here to learn more.
Meghan Markle’s close connection with Smart Works

The Duchess was an obvious choice to serve as an official patron of Smart Works because of her passion for fashion and female empowerment.
Meghan has secretly visited the Smart Works headquarters in West London on a number of occasions, and she even contributed to the design of “The Smart Set,” a capsule wardrobe for the women the charity supports that was created in collaboration with top fashion houses like John Lewis.

“I was drawn to Smart Works because it reframes the concept of charity as community, which is why. It’s a group of women who help and encourage other women to pursue careers, according to Meghan.
The CEO of Smart Works, Kate Stephens, has discussed the Duchess’ long-standing involvement with the organization. Meghan even surprised their clients with a one-on-one coaching session over a Zoom call while the office was under lockdown.
Thanks to donations from major fashion brands, high street retailers, and members of the public, the charity provides unemployed women with a skilled coaching session ahead of their job interview and then they are given the perfect interview outfit by a wonderful team of stylists.
Meghan Markle’s favourite cake companies
Meghan loves both the London-based, Duchess-approved bakeries Luminary Bakery and Violet Cakes, so we anticipate that she will be eager to try their pastries while she is in the city.

After Claire Ptak and her team at Violet Cakes wowed Meghan and Harry with their magnificent lemon and elderflower cake for their wedding in May 2018, they were given the special task of making their daughter Lilibet Diana’s first birthday cake, a strawberry buttercream floral cake.

The Duchess of Sussex has also made Luminary Bakery in Camden a public cause because it is a “social enterprise designed to offer opportunities for women to build a future for themselves.”
The company, which is entirely run by women, offers a secure work environment and strives to “break cycles of poverty, violence, and disadvantage once and for all.”
