The Princess of Wales is undergoing preventative chemotherapy for cancer

Brothers reuniting: Prince Harry reaches out to Prince William amidst Kate’s cancer battle

In response to the shocking revelation that the Princess of Wales is receiving cancer treatment, Prince Harry “reached out” to his brother, Prince William.

ITV Royal Editor Chris Ship claims that Harry and Meghan Markle have both communicated with William and Catherine in private, though it’s unclear how they showed their support.

Catherine revealed that she is receiving preventative chemotherapy for an unidentified cancer type, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex wished her well in a public statement that was released hours later.

“We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace,” Meghan and Harry said.

The 42-year-old Princess had major abdominal surgery in January, which was considered successful at the time. Since no tests had shown the presence of cancer, the condition was assumed to be non-cancerous.

Post-operative tests, however, later revealed the presence of cancer.

Catherine addressed her diagnosis in a moving and impactful personal video message that she shared on Friday, March 22. “This came as a huge shock, of course, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family,” Catherine said in the BBC Studios video, which was shot on March 20.

“This has taken time, as you can imagine. In order to begin my treatment, I had to take some time to heal from a major surgery. Above all, though, it has taken some time for us to reassure George, Charlotte, and Louis that everything will be alright and to explain everything to them in a way that is suitable for them.”

Catherine went on, “By concentrating on the things that will support my healing—in my mind, body, and spirit—I am well and growing stronger every day. It also gives me a great deal of comfort and confidence to have William by my side. As is the affection, encouragement, and kindness so many of you have shown. It is really important to us both.”

It was necessary for Catherine to have the time and space to accept her diagnosis, heal from her surgery, and start her road to recovery, as we recognise from the announcement made on Friday.

As the kids have now finished their Easter break from school, we understand that the Prince and Princess thought this was the appropriate moment to provide this update.

King Charles, who is also receiving cancer treatment, declared in a statement that he is “so proud” of his “beloved” daughter-in-law Princess Catherine after learning of the news.

Catherine had received treatment at The London Clinic earlier this year, and she was getting ready to release her video message, as both Charles and Queen Camilla knew.

His Majesty is “so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did,” according to a spokesman for Buckingham Palace.

His Majesty has “remained in the closest contact with his beloved daughter-in-law throughout the past weeks” since their time together in the hospital.

“Will continue to offer their love and support to the whole family through this difficult time,” are Charles and Camilla’s words.
