In a rare update about her kids, Meghan Markle disclosed that her son enjoys building things, while her daughter prefers singing and dancing.
On the first day of her and Prince Harry’s tour of Nigeria, the Duchess of Sussex talked about Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie, who are two and five years old, respectively, after joining schoolchildren in a song and dance session. Following a wild rendition of “jump up, turn around” by the couple and students from Lightway Academy in Abuja, Meghan said, “We’re so honored to be with you.” We must recognize those incredible dance moves! My hubby was eager to get up.”
Meghan, a former Suits star, remarked, “That’s Lili’s favorite class…maybe it’s all the jumping around!” in response to Harry, 39, asking students, “Is singing and dancing your favourite class?”
The couple was invited to the school for the first-ever mental health summit organized by GEANCO, a local non-profit connected to their foundation Archewell. They were greeted with strings of wooden beads upon entering along a green carpet, which they wrapped around their necks, and then street-style dancers and singers serenaded them.
Meghan praised a performer who executed a stunning backflip in front of them with a “Bravo!” clap. A two-year-old girl approached Meghan and hesitantly shook her hand, but she eventually decided it was too much to shake Harry’s hand.
Meghan gave her encouraging words, saying, “We all get shy sometimes.” Later, Meghan addressed the children present once more in reference to Lilibet, saying, “So our daughter, Lili, she’s much, much tinier than you guys.”
She will turn three soon. And a few weeks prior, all she would see when she looked at me was my eye’s reflection. And she said, “Mama, you remind me of me.” Whoa, she was talking literally now.
However, I retained those words in a completely different way. And I realized that while I do see myself and you, and you see me and you, I also see myself in each and every one of you as I glance around this room.
Harry and Meghan were also brought to a STEM class, where some young people proudly displayed robot cars they had built. One of them went by the name M-Bot. “Our son Archie is five,” Meghan remarked when the couple was shown around the class’s oldest student, who was five years old. Last week was his fifth birthday.”
When Harry enquired, “Who enjoys electronics?” Meghan mentioned that Archie liked building things. Meghan vowed, “We will have to come back for the exhibition,” after learning that the kids would be displaying them in class one day.
