Prince George and Charlotte, Easter was a time of celebration, as they not only ate mountains of chocolate but also had a royal sleepover at Windsor Castle.

Following the Easter service on Sunday, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, along with their younger brother, Prince Louis, stayed at the Queen’s residence with their parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Prince Edward, Lady Louise Windsor, Zara Tindall, Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, their baby daughter Sienna, and Beatrice’s stepson Wolfie were among the royals who stayed the night.

Zara’s husband, Mike Tindall, was also in attendance, as was the couple’s eldest daughter, Mia, who accompanied her parents to the service.

It’s not often that we get a glimpse into William and Kate’s parenting style, but former royal chef Darren McGrady says they’re surprisingly relatable.

In a conversation with Coffee Friend, he explained: “It was much, much different and more relaxed at Kensington Palace when I [began working for Princess Diana]. It was less formal, more family-style, with all of the food on the sideboard for the Princess and the boys to help themselves to.

“She preferred instant coffee if she wanted a cup of coffee. She’d come into the kitchen and make one for herself, then offer to make one for me.

“One thing I’ve noticed about William is that, like Diana, he and his family enjoy cooking, being together, and doing things together. They also allow their children to be children, just like the Princess. You can see them eating cookies and even making them.”

Duchess Kate has previously stated that she enjoys involving her children in the kitchen, and they particularly enjoy making pizza. Kate expressed herself as follows: “Making pizza dough is something I’ve done with George and Charlotte. They enjoy it because it allows them to get their hands dirty.”

“I love making pizza dough with George and Charlotte,” she continued.

Darren stated: “Princess Diana always wanted the boys to be more ‘normal’ by allowing them to have experiences as Royal children and then as regular children. You can see it with William and Kate right now.”
