The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's wedding as you've never seen it

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s rarely-seen wedding photos: From tearful speech to guest slippers

Some aspects of the royal wedding are well-documented, such as when Meghan Markle exited the car in her Givenchy wedding dress at St. George’s Chapel and when Prince Harry kissed his bride for the first time after their ceremony.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their A-list guests gathered to celebrate on May 19, 2018, and candid photos of those moments were perhaps less widely publicized. Look back at the rare photos you may have missed as they celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary, including Harry’s moving speech at their reception and the slippers Meghan’s Suits co-stars wore.

The venue

Patrick J. Adams, who plays Patrick J. Adams on Suits, took a selfie before the ceremony, giving everyone a closer look at the guests arriving at Prince Harry and Meghan’s big day. It was easy to make out Windsor Castle’s walls and its immaculate grounds.

The royal and her new father-in-law shared a tender moment in new pictures from the Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan as he prepared to walk her down the aisle in place of her father Thomas Markle.

Following the wedding ceremony, a cute photo showed the bride kissing King Charles.

Away from the official cameras, Prince Harry and his future mother-in-law shared a similar private moment.

The wedding reception

We wonder what poignant words the Duke had just said because he was visibly moved to tears as he raised a glass with his new wife and their guests at a reception at Windsor Castle.

In a happier photo, Harry and Meghan could be seen standing on a balcony and looking down at their guests, the Duke amusingly pointing at someone in the crowd.

The transport

On the way to the event, Jacinda Barrett, a former co-star of Meghan’s in the television series Suits, took a selfie with some of her American friends. Everyone appeared magnificent in their finery.

Serena Williams also shared a glimpse of the transportation on social media when she posted a video of herself entering a double-decker bus while dressed for the evening and wearing sneakers.

The gifts

In the interim between the reception and the ceremony, actress Troian Bellisario secretly snapped a photo of her slippers. Someone else can be seen wearing a pair, so it appears that the happy couple provided the cozy shoes.

The cake

The brilliant mind who created the jaw-dropping royal wedding cake deserves to be seen up close. Before the guests even arrived, creator Claire Ptak was able to sneakily snap a picture of the magnificent cake in its natural setting. How amazing!
