The Prince and Princess of Wales, who attended the coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla along with their kids Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, sparkled in their roles.
The family retired to celebrate in private after the excitement of their much-anticipated balcony appearance, the first of King Charles’ reign. It didn’t take long before the Wales family posted several personal images from the historic day on Instagram. From Princess Charlotte’s sparkling tiara debut to Princess Catherine’s first curtsey to the new monarch, it was a day of firsts for the royal family.
William and Catherine posted several previously unseen photos on Instagram under the @princeandprincessofwales account.
The royal couple wrote, “An afternoon to remember [crown emoji] #Coronation,” which sparked a flurry of responses from devoted royal fans.
One admirer wrote: “Thank you for the lovely photos and your dedication to the monarchy,” and another added: “Beautiful family, beautiful day. The King is still alive.”
Another said, “Princess Catherine, you were stunning today,” and a fourth wrote, “The pages all having a good time and The Princess of Wales looking on with pride.”
The Wales family’s best moments from the coronation
For nine-year-old Prince George, who played a significant role as one of his grandfather’s pages of honor, the day was especially memorable. The future King had on a knee-length scarlet coat with gold trimmings, and he looked the part.
The 13-year-old twins Gus and Louis Lopes and 13-year-old Freddy Parker Bowles, who were dressed in matching scarlet robes for the event, joined Prince George.
Princess Charlotte, eight, and her younger brother Prince Louis were seen leading the way in other parts of the ceremony. Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte made a special appearance at the coronation, and Charlotte tenderly held his hand.
