Princess Kate defied expectations in corset dress during date day with Prince William

The British chill is in full force, so coats, scarves, and gloves are in use. So, we reasoned, the Princess of Wales would be a good place to look for some impending summer fashion inspiration. The royal rocked many Y2K looks in the early 2000s, giving us plenty of inspiration for seasonal style guides.

Princess Catherine was spotted at Wimbledon wearing one of her most ethereal looks to date prior to her wedding into the royal family. The soon-to-be royal wore a divine white corset dress with spaghetti straps, a boned peplum bodice, white pleating, and a rich cream color that emphasized her tan, likely as a result of a beach vacation with then-boyfriend Prince William.

Prince William, who looked dapper in a sharp navy suit, a crisply ironed shirt, and a red tie, joined Princess Catherine at the tennis event.

In a chic, cool-girl style, tennis fan Catherine wore her brunette hair down loose and swept to the side. She added a nude clutch bag to her outfit to subtly complete her angelic look.

Prior to becoming a royal, the princess was recognized for her ultra-structured attire and composed wardrobe, but she was also known to occasionally wear a pair of low-waisted jeans.

An example would be in 2005, when the future wife of Prince William went out in St. Andrews, Scotland, before her graduation. The history of art student appeared unconcerned in a pair of light-wash blue jeans with bell bottoms, a low-slung silhouette, and an American It-girl vibe.

She paired the bottoms with a straightforward white cami top with spaghetti straps and a cute frilled trim. Her outfit was completed by a large, woven black belt that gave it an unmistakable noughties vibe.
