Meghan Markle has come under fire from Donald Trump for how she treated the Queen, claiming that she was’very disrespectful’ to Her Majesty. After the public spat between the Sussexes and the rest of the Firm, the former US President expressed his surprise that Prince Harry had been invited to his father’s coronation. Trump expressed his excitement for the big day on Saturday while speaking with former UKIP leader Nigel Farage on GB News. Trump also gave King Charles his full support, stating that the monarch “loves the country.”
He also paid tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II, praising her for going through “years and decades without controversy” and calling her “incredible.” Yesterday, the 76-year-old was pictured playing golf on his Scottish course in advance of the interview with his friend and political ally. In a clip from the conversation, which will air tonight at 7 p.m. on GB News, Trump questioned Meghan’s treatment of Her Majesty. He declared, “I believe Meghan has treated the Queen with a great deal of disrespect.” How can you treat the Queen with such disdain? She [the Queen] was amazing because she never erred for a very long time. I cannot recall a mistake she made; she never caused a stir.
You cannot treat her with disrespect, and I believe Meghan treated her with extreme disrespect, he continued. He continued by saying that he agreed with Farage that the Queen was “the most adored human being in the world.” In a clip that was made public prior to the interview, Trump also expressed his excitement for both the Coronation and King Charles’s reign. I think it’s going to be a great day, I think they’ll do a great job, and he [Charles] loves the country,’ he declared. I got to know Charles quite well, and I discovered that he really loves his mother and the country. Because of this, in my opinion, Meghan treated her so disrespectfully, and there was simply no justification for doing so. To be honest, I was surprised that Harry was invited.
It’s not the first time that Trump has criticized Prince Harry and his wife; in 2021, he claimed that Meghan had ‘used the Duke horribly’ and that he didn’t like the former actress. ‘I’m not a fan of hers,’ he declared. I wasn’t right away. Harry has, in my opinion, been horribly mistreated, and I believe he will come to regret it. It hurts the Queen, and I believe it has damaged his relationship with his family. He continued, “I think the duchess has shown a great deal of disrespect to the Queen, who is such a great woman, such a great person, and a historic person. She treats the Royal Family and, most importantly, the Queen with a great deal of disrespect, in my opinion.
Following their meeting to prepare for today’s interview, Trump and Farage were seen grinning together last night. As his brief visit to Scotland draws to a close, Trump teed off once more at his Turnberry golf course in South Ayrshire while donning his signature red “Make America Great Again” cap. Ahead of the GB News interview this evening where the two are scheduled to discuss “court cases in America,” the Coronation, and the state of Scottish politics, Trump, dressed in his golfing attire, laughed and joked with a suit-clad Farage.
Trump’s golf trip to Turnberry coincided with the opening of a new course on the east coast of Scotland that he named in honor of his late mother. It happened at the same time that Scottish lawmakers are reexamining their investigation into how he was able to buy the two resorts. At home, Trump is also dealing with escalating legal issues as a result of his indictment by a Manhattan district court for his alleged involvement in the payment of ‘hush money’ to a celebrity during the 2016 presidential election as well as an ongoing sexual assault case in New York City.
The reunion of Trump and Farage on Scotland’s picturesque west coast was met with smiles on all sides. The two engaged in a brief conversation that could not be heard before opening up to the rest of the room. The two appear to have developed a close friendship as a result of their political support for one another. Trump addressed what appeared to be a bustlingly crowded hall lit by chandeliers and inquired, “Does everyone know Nigel?” The troubled ex-president jokingly said, “I’m doing a little minor interview tomorrow,” implying that he might take the chance to discuss his views on a number of important topics as he prepares to run for the Republican nomination in 2024. Then a photographer enters and motions as if he would like to take a picture of the two men together. Farage has been a very outspoken supporter of the former president, making several appearances at his rallies and defending many of the scandals that have engulfed the businessman-turned-politician.
