Prince William and Princess Catherine treated their eldest two during the break while Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are currently enjoying the break from school.
The Prince and Princess of Wales, along with George and Charlotte, reportedly paid a low-key visit to Buttersteep Rise in Ascot to observe filming for the upcoming season of the Amazon Prime series Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. Additionally, they got to meet some of the popular television show’s cast.
The Hobbit actor Martin Freeman revealed in 2014 that the Prince of Wales was a huge fan of both the films and the J.R.R. Tolkien book series that served as their source material.
He said at the Olivier Awards: “He was a nice guy. The biggest royal admirer is him. There are fans of the book all over the world. Given that Catherine was in the hospital at the time of the premiere, William obviously wanted to be there.
Martin continued, “He knew all the information about Middle Earth, and I think I talked too much to him.
As the week draws to a close, William and Catherine have another exciting outing planned: they’ll be attending the EE BAFTA Film Awards ceremony at the Royal Festival Hall on Sunday.
Before meeting category winners and EE Rising Star Award nominees, William and Catherine will watch the awards presentation.
Catherine first attended the star-studded event with the Prince in 2017, who has been the President of BAFTA since 2010.
Due to “diary constraints,” the couple was unable to attend the ceremony last year, but William appeared virtually in a special video message.
