His Majesty has started a schedule of treatment

BREAKING: King Charles diagnosed with cancer – Queen Camilla to ‘support’ monarch through diagnosis

According to Buckingham Palace, King Charles has been diagnosed with a particular type of cancer.

“During the King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted,” the palace said in a statement. A type of cancer has been identified by further diagnostic testing.

“Today, His Majesty began a regimen of routine medical treatments. Physicians have advised him to delay engagements with the public during this time. His Majesty will carry out routine official paperwork and State business during this time.”

The statement went on, saying, “The King looks forward to returning as soon as possible to full public duty and is grateful to his medical team for their prompt intervention, which was made possible by his recent hospital procedure regarding his treatment.

“His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer.”

Although the type has not been confirmed, Buckingham Palace has stated that it is not prostate cancer.

A spokeswoman for the Palace stated during a briefing that “His Majesty has received treatment for benign prostate enlargement. During this intervention, a different matter of concern was identified and later determined to be a type of cancer. The proper care will now be given to this second condition.

It is thought that Charles informed his younger son Prince Harry of his startling health news prior to his public announcement through a statement from Buckingham Palace. A person close to the Duke of Sussex has revealed that Harry is expected to visit his father in the UK in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Prince William is believed to have kept in close contact with his father following his direct disclosure by Charles.

Since then, messages of support from all over the nation have been pouring in, with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak wishing the King a “full and speedy recovery”. “On behalf of the Labour Party, I wish His Majesty all the very best for his recovery,” tweeted Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer. On X, Health and Social Care Secretary Victoria Atkins wrote, “My thoughts are with King Charles and the whole Royal Family. We look forward to seeing him back to swift full health.”

A week ago, 75-year-old Charles was released from the London Clinic following treatment for an enlarged prostate. Although the specifics of the King’s care have not been made public, it is known that Charles had a corrective surgery to address the benign condition.
