Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s first date was at an exclusive location, which King Charles visited during a break in his busy schedule.
The monarch was seen pulling up to the back door of 180 House on The Strand, Soho House’s central London outpost, in his oxblood Bentley, before getting out and entering the exclusive club.
He entered comparatively unnoticed, but when he left, happy crowds had gathered, and the King was grinning and waving to the delighted onlookers.
King Charles was accompanied by a large number of people, but none of them appeared to be other members of the royal family.
King Charles is known to enjoy swimming, and 180 Strand has a gorgeous rooftop terrace and pool in addition to many cozy nooks for private meetings. Additionally, there is a co-working area with food available all the time.
Although perhaps the King has been exempted, club membership begins at £100 per month.
A different Soho House location is where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had their first date, and Meghan stayed there while she was in London.
In his autobiography, Spare, Harry described their first date as follows: “She suggested [we meet at] Soho House at 76 Dean Street. When she visited London, it served as her base of operations. She would set aside a seat for us at a quiet table. There would be nobody else nearby.
Harry continued by revealing how much the Duchess of Sussex cherished the secluded retreat: “Sometimes she just left her luggage at Soho House for weeks. Without asking, they put it in storage. They went on a second date there because “the people there were like family,” making it clear that it’s a special place for the couple.
In an especially private revelation, Harry revealed that he and his future wife had spent their first night of dating at the hotel, with antics the following morning highlighting how at ease Meghan was at Soho House.
“We made a room service call. I frantically searched the room when they knocked, trying to find somewhere to hide. I pulled the duvet over my head and lay flat on the bed,” he wrote.
Unfortunately, not just any waiter delivered our breakfast. A hotel assistant manager brought it because he wanted to talk to Meg and knew she loved him.
In addition, Prince Harry disclosed that he, Meghan, and her mother Doria Ragland had visited the spot, referring to it as their “favorite” location at the Soho House location on Dean Street. At our favorite location, Soho House at 76 Dean Street, “we were celebrating Doria, celebrating being together, and doing it all,” he wrote.
Additionally, Prince Harry disclosed that he preferred to enter the hotel through a “secret way” using the freight lift rather than the back door, as did King Charles, and that a friend of Meghan’s who worked there helped him remain undetected.
We sincerely hope King Charles enjoys Soho House as much as his son and daughter-in-law have!
