The Queen gathered her family for a service of thanksgiving to honor her late husband of 73 years, Prince Philip, nearly a year after his death and his funeral, which was held under pandemic restrictions.
The historic event took place on Tuesday morning, with the monarch traveling from Windsor to Westminster Abbey in London in her car, accompanied by Prince Andrew.
Members of the Queen’s family, including Prince Charles and Camilla, Prince William and Kate, Princess Anne, and Sir Tim Laurence, the Earl and Countess of Wessex, were present to support the Queen, who turns 96 next month.
Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, as well as Lady Louise Windsor and James, Viscount Severn, and their respective husbands, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Jack Brooksbank, were in attendance, as were royals from Europe and beyond.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were photographed arriving at Westminster Abbey with Prince George and Princess Charlotte, where they were greeted by the Dean of Westminster, the Very Reverend Dr David Hoyle, who led the service on Tuesday.
At Prince Philip’s memorial service on Tuesday, the Duchess of Cambridge was among the royal women who were seen bowing to the Queen.
When she saw the Queen walk arm-in-arm with Prince Andrew inside Westminster Abbey, Kate, who was seated with Prince William and their two older children, showed her respect for the monarch by subtly bobbling down into a low curtsy.
The Queen’s daughter-in-law, the Countess of Wessex, and her daughter, Lady Louise, were also seen paying their respects on the other side of the aisle.
At the poignant memorial service, the Queen was joined by close family, friends, foreign royals, and hundreds of charity workers in honor of her beloved husband, the Duke of Edinburgh.

Princess Charlotte clutched the hand of her mother, Kate. In a polka dot dress and a wide-brimmed hat, the Duchess was her usual elegant self.
George clutched the hand of his father, Prince William.
For the service, Princess Charlotte looked lovely in navy.
