We are rapidly approaching King Charles’ coronation. taking place on May 6 at Westminster Abbey, with festivities continuing into the weekend. The Hello! Fashion offices are all wondering the same thing, even though the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s attendance is not yet 100 percent confirmed: what on earth will Meghan Markle wear if she attends?

“Megan would not want to be on the wrong side of the coronation because it is truly a historical moment that will be remembered for 100 years by people who will be in awe. Therefore, choosing what to wear requires careful thought, according to independent stylist and creative director Lady Alice Manners.

“I have learned over the years that less is more in terms of royal fashion; Meghan in particular has such a chic and effortless style. According to celebrity stylist Georgie Gray, the Duchess of Sussex “always wears complimentary colors and is very subtle and poised.” Although many of the customs and rituals associated with the occasion have not changed in the UK for more than a thousand years, this coronation is rumored to be a much more laid-back event than in the past.

Formal attire is reportedly not “encouraged” for parliamentary guests invited to the coronation. Whatever the case, the historic occasion still calls for edgy outfits, and at the very least, we’re hoping to see a few tiaras like we did at Queen Elizabeth II’s. Everyone will be there, the dress code is chic, and the language is royal, according to London-based art director and costume fashion stylist Barbara Ayozie Fu Safira.

In order to determine what the duchess should wear, we asked five stylists. Here is how they explained the coronation attire:

Nana Acheampong

Annette tulle gown – Emilia Wickstead

“Meghan is used to donning red for significant events, and it doesn’t get much more significant than your father-in-law ascending to the throne of England. The icing on the cake would be to use a British designer for the coronation. The intricate leaf detail on this stunning dress by Emilia Wickstead not only draws attention with its vibrant color, but also lends it an extra dash of Hollywood glitz.

Sateen Maxi Dress – Stella McCartney

“The Duchess of Sussex has an understated style that never fails to wow. How wonderful would it be if she supported a British fashion designer at the Coronation, such as Emilia Wickstead or Stella McCartney? I anticipate some kind of tailored cape situation to cover the shoulders as well as some pretty fancy headgear because the rules and regulations regarding the dress code call for some clever styling.

Spencer Gown – Emilia Wickstead

“I only see her wearing couture, and my favorite designers to see her wearing are Vivienne Westwood, Emilia Wickstead, Oscar De La Renta, or Elie Saab. As long as it had a significant amount of grace and taste, a custom Vivienne Westwood outfit could be stunning. Respectful attire should be modest, covered, and not draw attention to itself. The key is elegance and timeless design.

Hooded Dress – Schiaparelli

The moment Meghan steps out of her car, we are immediately drawn to her stunning, priceless crystal Valentino Tan-Go pumps, which are fit for a duchess. She brought passion, a long red silhouette-draping dress by Schiaparelli, and as we start to look up, we are briefly taken back to the Roman and Greek Empires. Her long cream leather Jil Sanders gloves are pushed down to create motion. She’s aware of where she is and is holding a tiny vintage Alexander McQueen clutch as a tribute to the British Island. Because recycling old items is crucial for the environment, as we are all aware. Who is her new hairdresser? Lady Barbara Ayozie Fu Safira is her name, which suggests that she is a visionary.

Bow-embellished gown – Oscar de la Renta

“The weekend will be jam-packed with exciting events, and I have no doubt that Meghan won’t let her practice of attractive looks down. What I have chosen for her is an elegant gown by Oscar de la Renta with a fitted straight stretch skirt and a large, dramatic taffeta bow at the back. This particular dress is from the Resort ’23 collection and has a ruched strapless neckline. We know the Duchess looks good in midi length dresses. finishing the look with the timeless navy Manolo court shoes that Megan has been spotted wearing during all of her royal engagements.
